Have you ever noticed how beautiful early morning light is on trees? Driving down the road on a morning with a red sky the evergreens just glow red. I scoped out a tree to paint on such a morning. It had the trunk visible to the east. Perfect for the glow I was after. Then I waited, day after day for the right morning. By January 29th I figured it wasn’t going to happen so I went and painted the tree anyway, because it is beautiful. This larger painting took two days.
