The Germans and Swiss are good engineers. They know how to best stack wood! I’ve been stacking my wood this way for a number of years. inside the circle of outer firewood are vertical  pieces. The air moves into the pile and then up through the vertical pieces like a chimney, drying the wood. It works great! Day 18 was another cold one so I stayed close to home.
